Our first family trip to Europe this summer is long over, but the memories we made are still making us laugh and keep us wondering when we will return. We talk about the delicious Swiss cheeses and our favorite foods, the sweltering heat of Rome in August, and the fun of swimming in the pristine Swiss lakes. Of course my kids miss their cousin and it’s heart warming to see them texting and messaging with him even though they are nine hours and half a world apart. The goal of showing my kids where their grandfather came from and having them meet our family there was more than met. This trip has kindled life long relationships with our family there and has shown them where they come from. When my son talks about wanting to return, I smile and think, “me too.”
